Welcome to our beautifully restored self-catering holiday cottages, nestled in the peaceful countryside between Leyburn and Middleham, in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
Whether you're looking for a romantic break, an active walking holiday, a cycling adventure or simply a chance to unwind, our cottages provide the perfect base for exploring one of England's most spectacular landscapes.
A Perfect Location
Situated just two miles from the bustling market town of Leyburn and within walking distance of historic Middleham, famous for its castle and racehorses, you'll find countless attractions right on your doorstep.
Leave the car behind and enjoy scenic walks directly from the cottages, taking in rolling hills, traditional stone walls, riverside paths and breathtaking panoramic views. Venture a little further to discover waterfalls, abbeys, market towns, artisan food producers and some of the Yorkshire Dales' most iconic beauty spots.

Beautiful Rooms
Whether you’re in the Dales for a weekend stop or a week of touring, Foal Barn Self-Catering cottages are the perfect spot for a staycation. We are in the heart of Lower Wensleydale; you can explore local market towns, walk up and down the Dales.
You can explore the delights of the east coast: Saltburn, Whitby, Robin Hood's Bay or Scarborough. Why not venture to Ripon, Harrogate, York or Leeds - all just over an hours drive away.
Each cottage has two bedrooms, double, king size and single beds available. We have freshly laundered 100% cotton sheets and duvet covers. We provide bath and hand towels.
We spent time sourcing all of these essential items, with your comfort in mind. If you are here for over a week we can change bed linen and towels.
We recycle all plastics, cans and bottles and ask that you support us with this and use the clearly labelled bins provided.
Whilst we want you to switch off from the demands of usual life, we understand that Wifi is highly desirable. We have spent a considerable amount of time in researching and purchasing the required gadgets to provide top notch broadband.
We have recently invested in SMART TVs too!
